ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Manager HR is a role responsible for driving talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and statutory compliance across the group units (SAJSV, SAJSL, SAJSK, JIM, JSB). The role owns total responsibility for recruitment and onboarding through appraisal and audit coordination — and reports to the Vice President – HR.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition & People Development
• Own end-to-end recruitment across all levels and units, with average hiring TAT of 75 days or less (Senior Leadership ≤120 days, Mid-level ≤90 days, Junior-level ≤60 days).
• Build and maintain a proactive candidate pipeline; drive at least 70% of hiring through direct sourcing to reduce agency dependency, targeting a year-on-year reduction of over 10% in agency cost.
Talent Management & Performance
• Drive the annual appraisal cycle across all units to 100% completion within defined timelines, including goal- setting, mid-year review, calibration and bell-curve normalisation.
• Document and update a minimum of two SOPs per quarter, and ensure new HR policies are circulated with a communication plan within 15 days of approval.
• Support the GPTW survey process and translate results into an actionable employee engagement calendar at the Corporate Office level.
HR Cost, Compensation Budget Management
• Manage the HR hiring budget within a ±5% variance and track agency/consultant hiring cost against targets.
• Lead annual compensation benchmarking and provide salary revision inputs ahead of appraisal closure; track attrition attributable to compensation dissatisfaction.
HR Operations Systems
• Collate monthly HR review data from all units, circulate MOMs within 24 hours and maintain the action tracker.
• Oversee attendance and leave reconciliation across units and ensure employee queries are resolved within 48 hours.
• Provide checker-level oversight of monthly payroll (prepared by AM – HR), targeting zero errors and approval by the 27th of each month.
• Own HRMS troubleshooting and resolution within defined TATs (critical: 24 hrs, high: 48 hrs, medium: 5 days), including quarterly system health checks with IT/vendor.
Statutory Compliance &Governance
• Ensure 100% timely statutory filing (EPF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, Labour Welfare Fund) with zero penalties or show-cause notices; communicate regulatory updates to management within 15 days.
• Coordinate the annual HR audit across all group units, ensuring pre-audit documentation readiness and submission of ATRs within 2 weeks of the observation report.
• Consolidate monthly HR data and submit a quarterly analytics report (headcount, attrition, hiring, leave) to the VP – HR for policy review.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong end-to-end recruitment and stakeholder management skills across multi-unit / multi-location structures.
• Working knowledge of statutory compliance frameworks (EPF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, LWF).
• Experience with HRMS platforms, payroll oversight and HR analytics/dashboards.
• Proven ability to drive performance management cycles, compensation benchmarking and policy/SOP development.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to work across business heads, unit HR teams and senior leadership.
