Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee end-to-end operations within the marine / shipping sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and profitability across fleet and marine activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of marine vessels, ports, or offshore projects
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and performance
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards
• Manage fleet operations, maintenance schedules, and resource allocation
• Monitor budgets, cost control, and financial performance of operations
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams including technical, marine, and logistics staff
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in marine / shipping / offshore operations
• In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL)
• Proven leadership experience managing large operational teams
• Expertise in fleet management, logistics, and port operations
• Strong financial acumen and cost control experience
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or related field
• Master Mariner / MBA (preferred)
