About This Role
The Strategic Architecture Initiatives Office (SAIO) is a centralized function within a leading global financial technology and investment management platform. Its mission is to deliver the most critical and technically complex initiatives that advance business priorities, enhance client delivery, and strengthen the organization’s ability to meet future investor needs.
Role Overview
As a Director within the SAIO team, you will drive the execution of large-scale, complex strategic programs that align with key business priorities and client requirements. This role demands a transformational leader with strong strategic foresight, operational discipline, and the ability to thrive in ambiguity. You will manage cross-functional initiatives, anticipate risks and opportunities, and ensure high-impact outcomes. The role emphasizes stakeholder management, leadership development, and a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multi-dimensional programs with firm-wide impact, translating strategic goals into actionable roadmaps aligned with growth objectives and client value.
- Establish deliverables, milestones, and KPIs to track progress and support informed decision-making.
- Anticipate risks and design scalable solutions to mitigate them, ensuring high-quality, timely program delivery.
- Lead global, cross-functional implementations while applying best practices in change management to ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption.
- Utilize deep understanding of enterprise financial platforms to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions that strengthen client outcomes and organizational value.
Communication & Leadership
- Inspire, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering an inclusive and accountable work culture.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions to shape strategy and align objectives with enterprise priorities.
- Influence decision-making using data-driven insights and maintain transparency across stakeholders.
- Represent SAIO in executive forums and industry discussions, articulating program vision, strategy, and outcomes clearly and effectively.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in program or project management within the financial services or financial technology (fintech) sector.
- Proven success in leading large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives from inception to completion.
- Experience managing global implementations and enterprise-wide change programs.
Domain Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and change management processes.
- Hands-on experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Familiarity with enterprise investment management platforms or financial operations systems is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in program and project management tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), and collaboration tools.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Smartsheet, or Aha! for project tracking and reporting.
- Ability to interpret data and metrics to support decision-making and performance reporting.
Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational capabilities with attention to both strategic vision and operational detail.
- Proven record of building diverse, high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative environment.
