Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Head – Merchandising to lead merchandising strategy, product assortment planning, sourcing, pricing, and seasonal collections for a fashion and apparel business. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, an understanding of fashion trends, and experience in driving sales, margins, and inventory efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with business goals and seasonal trends.
• Lead product range planning, assortment selection, pricing, and collection development.
• Work closely with design, sourcing, production, sales, and marketing teams to ensure timely product launches.
• Analyse market trends, customer preferences, competitor offerings, and sales performance.
• Manage product costing, margins, budgets, and profitability.
• Oversee inventory planning, stock availability, replenishment, and ageing stock management.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, suppliers, and buying teams.
• Monitor sell-through rates, inventory turnover, gross margin, and category performance.
• Drive seasonal merchandise plans, product mix optimisation, and markdown strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the merchandising team.
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in merchandising or retail management is preferred.
• 12–18 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or retail brands.
• Proven experience in product assortment planning, costing, sourcing, and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, fabrics, garment construction, and production processes.
• Experience managing teams, budgets, margins, and commercial targets.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
