Role Overview

We are seeking a highly accomplished and dynamic Head of Manufacturing to lead our end-to-end production operations for a rapidly growing vehicle manufacturing organization based in California. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with strong expertise in automotive manufacturing, process optimization, and team leadership.

This role demands a balance of strategic vision and hands-on operational excellence to ensure world-class product quality, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing units.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Strategy & Operations

• Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals and production targets.
• Oversee daily operations across multiple production lines ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Drive productivity, process standardization, and lean manufacturing practices.

2. Production Planning & Process Optimization

• Lead capacity planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output and reduce waste.
• Ensure adherence to production schedules and timely delivery commitments.

3. Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Establish and enforce stringent quality assurance systems.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant automotive and environmental standards.

4. Technology & Automation

• Champion adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and automation to modernize manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to integrate process innovations.
• Optimize plant layout, equipment utilization, and maintenance systems.

5. Cost Management & Efficiency

• Manage production budgets and operational expenditures effectively.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety.
• Continuously monitor and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

6. Leadership & People Development

• Lead and inspire a workforce of 500+ employees, fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Mentor plant managers and production heads, establishing performance-driven culture.
• Build capability through training, talent development, and succession planning.

7. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, and Finance to align operations with strategic goals.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and scaling up of production capacity.
• Represent the manufacturing function in executive discussions and strategic reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably in vehicle or automotive production.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale manufacturing units with 300+ workforce.
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and quality management systems.
• Experience in automation, process engineering, and cost optimization.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
