Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Director – Product & Engineering to lead the Product and Engineering function in India.

The role will be responsible for building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, driving product development and technical strategy, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure and high-quality products.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in engineering leadership, product development, cloud architecture, data/AI, software platforms and enterprise technology, along with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and global teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the India-based Product & Engineering organization.
• Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with overall product and business objectives.
• Drive end-to-end product development from requirements and architecture through production.
• Lead engineering, product, data/AI, QA and DevOps teams.
• Build scalable, secure and high-performance technology platforms.
• Drive adoption of modern cloud architecture, APIs, distributed systems and data platforms.
• Partner with Product Management and business leadership to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Oversee engineering delivery, sprint planning, releases, quality and technical debt.
• Establish strong engineering processes, standards and best practices.
• Drive AI/ML, GenAI and automation initiatives where relevant.
• Build and develop a strong engineering organization through hiring, mentoring and succession planning.
• Collaborate effectively with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure predictable delivery, product quality, scalability and operational excellence.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 12–18+ years of experience in software/product engineering, technology or platform development.
• Proven experience leading large and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong experience in SaaS, enterprise platforms, product engineering or technology products.
• Strong understanding of modern cloud architecture, APIs, distributed systems, databases and data pipelines.
• Experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs or AI-enabled products will be an advantage.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to connect technology decisions with business objectives.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working with global / US-based teams will be preferred.
• Should be comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement.
