Job Title: Deputy General Manager – Procurement

Job Summary:
The DGM – Procurement will be responsible for leading and managing the procurement function, including sourcing, vendor development, negotiations, contract management, and strategic procurement planning. The role requires strong experience in healthcare procurement, excellent vendor management skills, and the ability to optimize cost, quality, and supply efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Procurement & Planning
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s business goals.
- Ensure continuous availability of materials, equipment, and services as required by operations.
- Analyze market trends, price movements, and supply risks for key categories.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, ensuring quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Conduct periodic vendor audits and performance reviews.
3. Cost Optimization & Negotiation
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiation, strategic sourcing, and process improvements.
- Implement policies to optimize procurement expenses without compromising quality.
4. Contract & Compliance Management
- Draft and manage procurement contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams for contract closures and risk mitigation.
5. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to forecast and plan procurement needs.
- Optimize stock levels and reduce obsolescence.
6. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead and mentor the procurement team.
- Implement best practices in procurement processes, automation, and documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 12–18 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5+ years in healthcare/medical devices/pharma/hospital procurement.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing for medical equipment, consumables, devices, and healthcare services.
- Proven negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
- Experience in handling procurement budgets up to 40–50 Cr+ annually.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
